Reflexology

Reflexology can be traced back as far as 2500BC and has its roots in the ancient civilisations of Egypt, China, Africa and the Native Indian Tribes of America. Reflexology works on the principle that all of the body's organs and structures are mirror imaged on the feet and hands.

By using thumb holds and pressure techniques you are stimulating the flow of energy to the corresponding parts of  the body. This allows the acceleration of the healing to take place on these specific body parts. By treating your feet, we are treating the whole body.

Reflexology is not a 'cure all', however it is a very effective way to prevent future problems. It detects and clears most energy blockages found in your body, hence making it a great way to treat most conditions including:

  • Skin conditions including psoriasis and acne

  • Stress and all stress related conditions

  • Back aches and pains including sciatica

  • Digestive problems including I.B.S

  • Menstrual problems including P.M.S and Menopause

  • Infertility (in women) and Impotence (in men)

Maternity Reflexology

Expectant mothers can benefit from regular reflexology treatments as it can help with your coping mechanisms by supporting all the systems of the body. Especially your nervous and endocrine (hormone) system, promoting the bodies natural state of harmony and balance. This treatment has proven to be good at increasing and maintaining lactation and lifting low moods.

6 Weekly treatments are recommended leading up to your due date to increase oxytocin levels, balance hormones and to prepare you for labour.
If your baby does not arrive on time “priming for labour” techniques after your due date can be used to get things moving!

Reflexology for expectant mothers can also help alleviate:

  • Backache and sciatica

  • Braxton hicks

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • Groin / Ligament pain

  • Heartburn

  • Insomnia

  • Nausea and vomiting

  • Oedema (swelling of the ankles, wrists or fingers)

  • Symphysis pubic pain

"I was actually one of Claire’s students so luckily had her number when I fell pregnant, her maternity reflexologies are heavenly. I had a tough first trimester and suffered with morning sickness from the beginning. Claire really took care of me I saw her for a reflexology session monthly. Then in my last trimester I had sciatica which Claire managed to sort out with a couple of Bowen treatments. BTW Bowen worked wonders for my babies colic."
